Camp Luther has been around since 1946 and serves as the premiere camp of the North Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church.
Members at St. John who have been attending Camp Luther since 1957. For nearly 40+ years St. John's has sent kids to confirmation camps, summer camps and winter retreats. While adult members have attended men, women, or couple retreats. In addition, members have gone to Worker-bee weekends and various other retreats and trips at camp. On average St. John sends around 15-20 kids to camp each summer.
However, due to COVID-19 and the many restrictions, Camp Luther had to make the hard decision to cancel their youth camp this summer. The canceling of the youth summer camps unfortunately will have a negative impact on the budget for Camp Luther.
Since Camp Luther has played such an important part in St. John's ministry through the years, we have decided to do a fundraiser to help them meet their current budget needs.
We are seeking to raise up to $5,000 for camp. With each "special" dollar mark we hit, you get to torture pastor along the way.
- $2,000 ... Pastor will wear a Packers Jersey
- $3,000 ... Pastor will do a Polar Plunge into ice water
- $5,000 ... Pastor will dye his hair Packer Green
- $6,000+ .. Pastor will shave a Packer "G" into his head.
In addition to the funds that you donate, the Voters Assembly on Sunday, June 28th voted to match dollar for dollar all donation made to Camp Luther though the church, up to $5,000.
You donations will help ensure that Camp Luther will not only be around to have an impact on the members of St. John in years to come, but will continue to enrich and share the Gospel of Christ throughout door ministry for many years to many people.
We are hoping to hit our goal of $5,000 by Thursday, Aug. 6th
